Weird's All I've Got... That And My Sweet Sweet Style
As winter threatens to prematurely usurp autumn in all of her golden glory, we find ourselves locked inside, with idle time aplenty. Some of us, spend our time crying in darkness, others prefer to cozy up in front of some Yankee Candles and watch John Grisham novels realized as horrible movies whilst we contemplate how much bath salt we have left for our prebedtime ritual (and it is a lovely bed, four posts, canopy and all).
Inside, with all of those thoughts bouncing around in your cranium, you may or may not have the itch to get a tribal band or that tramp stamp you've always wanted. I cannot say why. Perhaps you've a hankering to show mom and dad that you're a rebellious little urchin or that you're "hardcore" or that you too can make the choice to be cool... right.
At any rate, the very talented Mr Aron Dubois will be inside as well, permanently scarring anyone who is interested. Take a gander at his new blog and view the man's work for yourself. Then, hop on that hipster wagon (aka Bianchi Pista and/or conversion with Phil Wood Hubs on Velocity Deep Vs) and ride on down to Sol Tribe for your very own proof of "badassery". And if you can't stand the cold, try hitch-hiking or just stay home and keep working on your trains. (Trains are pretty sick, for reals).
Pansy Division

Jon Ginoli of Pansy Division wrote a book about his time in the band and will be signing it at 7:30 on Wednesday (4/29) at the Tattered Cover in LoDo. If you don't know who Pansy Division is, they were an important punk band and I did a much more thorough write up on them over at Proper Fresh (shameless cross promotion, for the win).
Cheers!

Fucked Up, Guns N' Rosa Parks
I'm cross posting this on my site (blatant self promotion, woot), but Fucked Up may be the greatest hardcore band currently touring/playing (in my humble opinion, that is) and they have never played Denver before. They are playing with Denver's own Guns N' Rosa Parks for two slots on the 11th of February: all ages show at 3 at Wax Trax and a 21 and up show at 8 at the Larimer Lounge. Do not miss it!

Congratulations Are In Order

Curt Wallach (your friendly neighborhood co-proprietor of the Track Shack) and his lovely significant other, Suzanne are officially married (as of yesterday), the pictures above were hastily taken with my iphone in City O' City, where they celebrated with an assortment of the finest foods City O has to offer. There was much rejoicing!
Awesome Party Squad: Episode 1 ("The Trouble in Belmar") r-r-r-r-r-r-re-re-cap
Dear bro,
Yo, B! I told you about the Awesome Party Squad, right? Yeah, well we headed down to Cabo San Lucas to check out my boy PJ's Jimmy Buffet beach party and let me tell you, it was bro-radical! There's nothing like kicking it with some fellow parrotheads, drinking a few margaritas, and bro-ing out. It's true that Lil Ronnie got into it with some guy from Detroit over who got to carry the rufies and yeah, I totally scored with your cousin (sorry brosepf, I gots needs), but it was truly one of the most bro-dacious moments in my life (which has been pretty damn rockin' so far). Dude, when we busted out the giant beer bong I was literally shitting my pants (sic: literal, proper def not a synonym for figurativ- oh wait, that's gross!).
Yeah I know I'm not in the pics, but that's cause I was bro-ing down so hard I had to snap them beasts while the time was right, cause I'm a bro of action, you know? Anyway, when HB gets done sleeping it off, he's gonna send you the pics from last night (episode 2: If GG Allin Sang "Cheeseburger in Paradise").
Peace-a-later, gator masturbater!
(For more asinine, over-the-top action from the FM launch party, check my flickr, and stay tuned for episode 2!)
Milton Glaser Documentary

Milton Glaser is/was/is kind of a big deal. He's responsible not only for founding New York Magazine, but the infamous "I ♥ NY" campaign. Love him or loathe him, a large chunk of the world sees him as the face of American graphic design (he did, after all, receive the 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum).
Wednesday night, December 17th at 7:00 PM the Denver Film society will be showing the documentary: "Milton Glaser: To Inform & Delight" at the Tivoli. Bring your "I ♥ NY" shirts (or your TrackStar "I Slay NY" shirts).
The Universe of Keith Haring

If you aren't familiar with Keith Haring, you probably are familiar with his art, specifically his "Radiant Baby" image and similarly styled figures. While Haring died of complications from AIDS in 1990, his legacy still lives on.
The Denver Film society is showing a film on his life and art tonight at the Tivoli (on the CU Denver campus) as part of their "Off the Wall" series. Check it out.
