WHAT is Lugnasadh, you might ask?
Typically observed at end of July/beginning of August, the Irish sun-god Lugh's step-mother & Queen of the Fir Bolg, Tailtiu, is commemorated for her heroic deed of clearing and re-claiming a meadowland for planting, with the help of her axe. She died of exhaustion from this and told the people to hold funeral games and other harvest-celebratory rituals during this time. (and more where that came from!)
Come dress your very celtic-best!!! be creative!
